-Barnes & Noble has not been doing that over the past few years
-Many of their investments and costs have gone into electronics, such as the Nook
-Investors are telling them to get rid of the Nook because it is too much money to invest in and will only hurt them in the future
-People prefer other devices by Apple or Samsung
-Barnes & Noble will be working on producing more content, rather than electronic devices

China Hacks Against US

-A large percentage of attacks on American organizations, corporations, and government were tracked back to the outskirts of Shanghai, China
-A Chinese hacking group known as the "Comment Crew" seems to be the source of hacking into American organizations
-Coca Cola was one of the organizations previously attacked by this group
-Studies reveal that there have been 140 Comment Crew intrusions since 2006
-America and China will be meeting soon to discuss negotiations to solve this hacking

New Class

If I were to add a new class to our curriculum, I would probably add an intro to business class. Many people major or minor in business during college, so putting an intro to this class in our high school would be beneficial. Students would enroll in this class to specifically choose what field of business they are interested in. This class would probably start around 10:00 am since everyone is usually awake and ready to learn at that time. Numerous teachers would be in this class, as well, to help students with their specific field. This class would require a laptop, preferably and Mac, which our school would supply. During this course, students would learn all about business through hands on activities. Homework would not be given out because no one ever does it or thoroughly completes it. There would be one to two tests a marking period and constant reviews throughout the entire school year. At the end of the school year, students would prove that they learned about business by completing an intense project where they would act as a business man or woman in the field they have selected.

Terrarium Desk

-Daniel Zeller created a desk with a terrarium built in it
-He felt that during winter he wanted his office to be more "green"
-Creating it was not the easiest task for him, but he says it was worth it, and it really gave him more inspiration while at work
-Right now, he Zeller says it is only for his personal enjoyment
-However, because of this new invention being discovered, terrarium desks will most likely be sold soon

What I Did Over the Weekend...

This weekend I did a few things. On Saturday, I went to my friend's house for a Valentine's Day party. Adults and children were invited and it was a lot of fun. On Sunday, I went to Panera with Alexa and Ariana and then got picked up by my good friend, Noah. We drove around for awhile since he just got his license and we all had fun.

US Court denies Apple the right to fast-track bids on Samsung!

- Apple wants to end Samsung's progression for their advanced data based phones
-Apple and Samsung are beginning to become rivals due to the inventions of the Iphone and of the Samsung Galaxy
-On February 4th, Apple brought the case of trying to end the Samsung data based phones to a forefront because they stated that the phones were a "stolen idea" and were basically getting close to outselling their Iphones
-The US Court overruled Apple and let Samsung keeps their smart phones and rights
-Last year, Apple won a case over a debate similar to this, but apparently the tides have turned, thus creating a smart phone proxy war!

My name is Stephanie Seiga, and I am a Sophomore at Wood-Ridge High School. I am fifteen years old and have one sibling who is twelve years old.  I like to play soccer, and summer is my favorite season.
